Mary H. Blair, 89, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014.
She was born in Yuma, Virginia on June 2nd, 1924 to the late Elisha A. Herron and Minnie Bruner Herron. Mary's faith and love for Jesus was steadfast and profound; and she was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors, sewing and loved spending time with children and her family. Mary was a loving, funny and vivacious person; who was a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews. Mary's family can take comfort in knowing that she is with her Heavenly Father, her husband Calvin and her parents.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Calvin C. Blair; sisters, Sally Herron Bellamy, Bessie Herron Goodson; brothers, William H. Herron, George L. Herron and Carl E. Herron.
Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Ruth Herron Miller and Thelma Herron Sutherland; brother, Elisha (Lige) Herron; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home on Friday, May 9th, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Cecil Sturgill, officiating. Music will be provided by Linda Goins, Holden Goins and Friends.
The graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Garden of Last Supper at Oak Hill Memorial Park. (Those wishing to attend the service should plan on arriving at the cemetery no later than 10:45 AM.)
Pallbearers will include Dylan Miller, Dorian Murphy, Tim Miller, Randy Miller, Jerry Cook and Ben Cook.

We are deeply grateful to so many people who have comforted and cared for Mary during the last stages of her life. A very special thank you goes to Martin and Stephanie Murphy and family; each of whom cared for her over the last eight years with love and great thoughtfulness.
